We need a new location. Looking for a place on Steinwehr Ave where we could put a storage shed to operate from. Need it by the endof October! Please call 717-752-7752. Thanks

LOL, Matt. If you think you can find a shed on Steinwehr, other than the one you ran the bike tours out of, I think you're dreaming. Golly, the Burro can't even put up a public restroom on the avenue!

I should be clear. We either need existing storage OR a place to put a shed like the one I had.

Matt, I thought you were selling and heading back to NJ?

I am. But I want to sell somebody something with a location. I still need to store my stuff. Our building has new owners and they want us all out by November. I feel like selling assets without a location to store them is a cheap trick. If I can't find one, then I wasted 5 years of my life.

What building are you currently in?

Matt, it's not a cheap trick if you are completely up front about it. Perhaps there is a buyer out there that has a different location in mind.

good point, getysbg. Upfrontly I wish to say that I am selling this business sans location. Perfect side business or business for a guide who likes riding bikes. And I'm not asking much either. Get me out of here!!

how is the hunt going, Matt?

I saw that Fairfield High just bought a bunch of bikes for part of their PhysEd class.
Maybe Gettysburg High would at least want to buy the bikes?
Sell them all on Craig's List?
Sell the business on Craig's List?

I think I told you this before Matt, but if you can come up with a gimick, you can sell it on eBay and get some good press. I saw a story once where a guy was selling his life.
You got his house, his cars, an interview with his work, and a party to meet his friends. The house and cars were yours, but getting hired for his job, and hitting it off with his friends was all on you.
It got him some news coverage and I think he got something like $500K for it all. It was at least interesting enough that I remembered it.

I've been trying to come up with a gimmick for it, but I am so mentally and creatively beaten by my experience with it that I can't come up with jack shiznit

you should offer it to an inner-city outreach program and use it as a write-off. then all the inner-city kids can come to twon every weekend in the summer. (watch the offers start rolling in now, Matt. hahahaha)

I sure hope that you have advertised other places than here. Maybe make up a flyer and hand it out at the Battlefield Guide school. Where ever that is.

thanks for the craigslist idea. i've been getting calls. have my first meeting tonight. i would still rather it go to a local. but, hey...
Offline
Well, if they buy it, they'll become a local. You can do just what the ebay guy did. Sell him the business, introduce him to your friends, show him the Gettysburg Underground. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Offline
part of buying it would be buying the contacts i've made, etc., bla bla bla.

Matt, what ever came of this and you moving back to that shithole state NJ?

lol I'm in negotiations with two interested parties. As soon as it's sold, i'm gone! Looks like it's shaping up to be a better than normal season. Has been since January.

I'm happy for you Matt that things are looking up and I hope that you seal the deal with one of them. You will definitely be missed but you'll be moving on to bigger and better for you - I have faith in you.
